I have been a long time Rudi's bakery stalker, so when they offered to send me some samps i nearly fell off my rocker. Thanks so much Rudi's team! Reviews to come asacd (as soon as i chow down, dur)

Other than my package, Thursday wasn't too thrilling. The highlight for sure though was going over to Ginge's house to help him get ready for his "white trash" themed staff party. He looks legit ... i drew tats and ripped his jeans for him -- pictures to come soon once they're facebook offish.

strawberry oikos and sandwich thins kind of made my day too..

considering my agendeerrrr just got cleared for today I don't have too much planned. I actually just remembered, I'm totally bummed. I was supposed to go to a Jason Mraz concert with my girlies tonight but I couldn't becaue my boss said there was no one to cover my shift.. dang-flabbit, i'm pissed.

i'm going to go drown my troubles in a bowl of PB&Jelly oat bran
have a fab-o friday muchachas

ask and ye shall receiveth.

...guess who has no cavities
http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_172/1186174176IdpuXA.jpg
holla!

now that my pearly whites are squeaky clean I have time to whip out a proper post.

I've gotten a few questions from some lovely readers in the past few days that I definitely wanted to address

1. Maggie asked:
i was reading through your blog and it talked about how you were afraid to eat foods that arnt "all natural" or "organic" and stuff. do you think that you suffer from othorexia?

1st of all, a little background info on what othorexia is:
"Orthorexia
, or orthorexia nervosa is a term coined by Steven Bratman, a Colorado MD, to denote an eating disorder characterized by excessive focus on eating healthy foods" [source]

Thank you so much for your respectable and honest question, Maggie. After writing this post about my obsession with eating healthy all natural or organic foods I realized that I was on the verge of becoming (if not slightly alright) orthorexic. I have really made it a point to challenge myself in terms of eating foods that perhaps don't have the most outstanding nutritional facts or ingredients list. Which brings me to another question I received...

2. Runningstronger asked: What kind of pudding do you eat?

This question really overlaps with the Orthorexia discussion. I used to eat the ZenSoy chocolate pudding and I'll be honest, I HATED the stuff! soy really doesn't agree with my stomach at all and I just didnt enjoy this pudding my any means. But i ate it, why? because it was "all natural". So, i found myself paying a buttload of money for some pudding I don't even like just because I thought it was "better for me". After downing about 3 pudding cups I realized, enough is enough.. and went out the next day to buy my newest obsession:
http://www.iateapie.net/images/brands/jellochocolatepudding.jpg
good ol' fashion jello pudding!

yes, this delicious snack with artificial ingredients to boot is my go-to dessert of choice.. and though it was a challenge at first - i've been rockin' the Jello for about 2 weeks now and haven't died yet, so i think it's safe! I've learned that although maybe it's not all natural... easy, cheap, and TASTES GOOD.. and shouldn't taste be first priority?! can i get an amen!

so, in a few short words Maggie, yes - you are absolutely right in assuming that perhaps i was on the path to becoming Orthorexic and it's something I do still strugle with at times.. but like many of us, i'm a work in progress. Thank you so much for your question!

3. Hi Jenny! I've been reading your blog since forever and have a general question to ask... I have noticed that you often eat diety type foods, eg 0% yogurt, sandwhich thins, low fat laughing cow, vitamuffins etc etc, and was wandering why you choose these when your trying to gain weight/recover from an ED?
another great question! and in many ways, it's dificult for me to answer. Though it does appear that the foods I gravitate towards are "diet" foods -- they are what i genuinly enjoy and i do get enough of them in to gain weight. For me, i love different flavors and combining different things -- so for instance, I would much rather a 100 calorie vitamuffin with pudding rather than just a 200 calorie brownie or a 0% yogurt with a granola bar rather than a higher fat yogurt. Though i do know that fat is important to a diet, trust me -- i definitely get that in through my peanut butter and nut intake! I also think it's really important to remind you girls that i also drink two boost supplemental drinks in addition to my food intake -- so homegirl is takin' in the cals she needs! Again, I've worked with my nutritionist to create the meal plan that works for me -- the foods i eat are what i enjoy and though they may not be ideal or work for someone else.. they have brought me to where I am today.
so again a big muchas gracias to all you ladies for your questions! I hope the answers were helpful and made sense to you all! Never hesitate to drop me a line at peanutbutterandjenny12 [at] yahoo.com if you'd like to talk further about anything!

and to my new readers: welcome, my pets! It's so nice to have ya.. I ♥ new friends!

enjoy what's left of your day, sunshines!

I don't think you're ready for this jelly..

Good morning, pets!
So today I have to start the post off on a somber note. I don't think i've mentioned -- but I've been involved in a bit of a love triangle. You all know how much i adore my beloved peanut butter and I genuinly believe we're soulmates. However, I've been feeling like there was someone else -- and yesterday my greatest fears were confirmed... Meet, the other woman:
look at those homewreckers.

I kid i kid, Crofter's was kind enough to send me some samples of their superfruit spread! cha-ching! somebodies going to be eating pb&jelly oat bran in the near future *cough* 5 minutes *cough*.

speaking of oat bran...

i'm

in

love

my favorite bowl from the past few days:
in the mix: 1/3 cup oat bran, 1 cup water, thinly sliced banan, vanilla extract, cinnamon topped with a naturally more drizzle and crushed whole wheat grahams. Marry me?

other thannngs i've been diggin'
...

bluebran vita with naturally more PB and a juicy red plum

turkey bacon, melted jalepeno cheese, and salsa on a whole wheat sandwich thin with blue tortilla chips and carrots.

vanilla oikos + crumble chocolate brownie mini clif bar = addiction.

slice of whole wheat potato bread with a Jennie O's turkey dog, cottage cheese and raisins, pretzies, corn

so what did we learn from this post, ladies and gents?!
Jenny lovez food like whoa

what a great feeling that is :).

I am also pleased to announce that I was able to go to the mall yesteday with my girlies and not buy a single thing... boo-yah! then i mini golfed with the ginge and beat his butt by 2 strokes -- wuddup! yesterday was divine

hope all you babes out there are having a rockin' hump day.. enjoy!!

eye eye captain! (eye makeup reviews!!)

hey chicks! hope you're day is going well so far!
So, remember about 84390 years ago when i said i would do an eye makeup review video post?! well, that day has finally come -- time flies, doesn't it?

from the website: Revlon® Colorstay™ Eyeliner glides on easily adding drama and definition to your eyes for up to 16 hours. Waterproof formula won’t smear, smudge or fade. Available in 8 shades.
my thoughts: this eyeliner is awesome! It really does stay on all day and doesn't smudge at all. Two thumbs way up for this eyeliner, it's definitely the best i've ever tried!

mascara

Maybelline lash stiletto mascara

from the website: The only mascara that does for lashes what stilettos do for legs. The Grip & Extend brush grasps each lash and coats from every angle. Elastic formula stretches lashes for provocative length. Pro-Vitamin B-5 formula conditions and smoothes for black-patent shine. Contact lens safe and Ophthalmologist tested
my thoughts: Meh, I'm sorry to say the only thing special about this mascara was the cute packaging. It does it's job but doesn't provide too much volume or fullness in my lashes and in my opinion was a little over priced.

Maybelline XXL exstensions XX-extreme length microfiber mascara

(jeeze, talk about a mouthful!)
from the website: Beautifully tamed lashes with length beyond belief. Discipline Gel uncrosses unruly lashes. Ultra-black top coat visibly lengthens lashes up to 85%
my thoughts: this mascara was a winner! the dual sides really create a very long and full lash, though it's crucial to remember to use both the primer AND the mascara side :).

eyebrows
Revlon brow fantasy

from the website: Perfect your brows with Revlon’s Brow Fantasy™ Pencil & Gel. Define and style brows in two quick steps for a polished look that lasts all day. The defining pencil fills in with soft, blendable color, while the brush-on sheer-tint gel styles, shapes and sets brows. Available in 4 shades.
my thoughts: for all the whimps out there (such as myself) who are too chicken to wax or pluck - this is a great alternative and really helps to tame the brows!

have a great day!

natural energy

happy monday, sweetcheeks.
how are ya? good? glad to hear it..
I'm doing great this morning because I just got the.best.sleep.ever.
honestly, I just slept like a rock last night for a solid 9 hours and loved every glorious second. It must have been because I was wiped after all of my heavy partying last night ;)..aka, spending the day at Ginge's house with his fam and playing volleyball all night with my high school friends.. I know I know, i'm a par-tay animal.

but before all that i obvz ate..
van's waffles and blueberry oikos.

apple, LC, spinach panini, back to nature crispy wheats, carrots
at about 4:00 I was dragging so I decided to whip out a Zevia to get me through the day.(alongside my hubs..)
In a matter of minutes I felt energized and ready to go.. must have been the caffeine, right? Well, a few hours later I realized there is no caffeine in Zevia's so the energy i acquired was totally in my imagination...similar to my girlfriend in 11th grade who acted like she was absolutely hammered after downing about 4 O'douls.. only to find out later that they were a non-alcoholic beer...embarassing. The mind can be a powerful thing, no?

amy's non-dairy burrito, blue tortilla chips (love!) edamame
I'll leave this picture up to your imagination .. sorry, I couldn't resist

vanilla pudding, banana slices, chocolate chip mini clif bar, vanilla bean almonds, whipped cream

Hope you all have a great day!

where the fellahz at ?!

mornin' all.. and oh what a good one it is!
why? well...
a.) because i got called out of work
b.) because i know in a matter of minutes i'll be able to recreate this hotness:
no you're eyes are not betraying you -- i officially mastered the oat bran technique.. thanks to you lovely ladies!

what's in there: 1/3 cup OB, 1 cup water, 1/2 thinly sliced nana, cinnamon, truvia, raisins. I cooked this over the stove top and at first I was a little concerned because it seriously started smelling like mashed potatos -- which are nice.. but not for breakfast. But, alas -- it was declicious and non-mashed potatoishhh..especially topped with cinnamon raisin swirl.

other eats of the day...

brown cow blueberry greek yogurt with vanilla bean almonds and raisins

**lunch was packed up and eaten at work..which, for the record - was a drag and a half..more on that later**

dinner was do0o0ope.
lookie here what i found!

nutrition stats here

I know that the Amy's veggie burgers are all the rage in blogworld so I thought i'd try 'em out.
wrapped up with cheese, banana peppers, spinach, mustard
mad props (as always) to Amy's! this burg was so meaty (twss) and had a smoky flavor that almost reminded me of bbq sauce?! i noticed on the ingredients list that there was molasses in the burger which may be the culprit -- genius, Ames!

what are your favorite veggie burgers?

ater din i had a peanut butter smore sundae for dessert..
so.freakin.good!
chocolate pudding with banana slices, crumbled mini smores luna bar, crumbled whole wheat grahams, dark chocolate dreams drizzle, whipped cream garnish. My tastebuds were lovin' this.
__________________________

so like i said earlier, work yesterday was dead. I don't know why but just recently the fellahz haven't been out -- and if they are, they are not tippin' big time.. I must remember to start wearing my daisy dukes ;). Seriously though, I don't know where all the dudes are at -- there must have been a tractor pull or cow milking contest goin' on that i didnt know about (reminder: i live in hicksville)

after leaving work with an empty pocket and defeated attitude i hit up the casa for some din then went to Ginge's house to help his madre cook for his sis' grad party today. We whipped up some penne a la vodka, stir fry, ceasar salad, and called it a night. Then Ginge and I watched a little bit of "There will be blood" which is an awesome movie, regardless of the fact that there's zippo hotties. We didn't finish though 'cause we both were falling asleep so that's on the agenda today -- which is perf. because it's super rainy which means perfect afternoon movie viewing weather. Then, of course, we'll be at his sistahs grad party for most of the day. waho0o0oo!

alright time for breakfast, i got a hot date with a pretty little thannnng named o-bran!
peace out girl scouts!

celebrity sighting!!

hey hey chicks! hope your weekend is going well so far!
so as I said i awoke yesterday morning prepared to take on the oat bran challenge but unfortunately, my tummy had other ideas. The antibiotics I'm on for my lymes does NOT agree with me in the morning (especially with coffee.. it's a recipe for disaster) so needless to say a big bowl of hot mush (but yummy mush of course) was probably the last thing I wanted to eat. Instead, I opted for a whole wheat english muffin with some PB and banana frosting.
I wasn't even feelin' the peanut butter this morning -- which is basically a sin on this blog.. but we all have our days.

after getting some grub in my system I did some pilates. Afterwards, i was HUNGRY *alleluia!* so I chowed down on a snackvanilla oikos, vanilla bean almonds, raisins, smooshed banana and a trader joe's peanut butter crunchy bar "spoon"
i edible utensils

then it was off to work with me when i ran in to some mayjuh celebrities! Y'all are not gonna believe this but i actually met...

....BAMBI !!

and if that wasn't enough, THUMPER was there too.

i know, i'm pretty much a big deal...
*name that movie*

well aside rubbing elbows (or in this case, hooves?) with the rich and famous I also did a lot of this..reading, typical
eating, even more typical texting mad hottiez

and in true bloggie fashion, taking miscellaneous pictures:
*green and pink ralph lauren tote.. $10 at tjmaxx, holla!*

do any of you guys carry your camera around with you all the time just in case there's something interesting to take a picture of?
oh, you don't? um, me neither...

...please stop judging me

alright well after downing some green tea to get me through the morning my bellaaay is feeling much better so I think i'm gonna go give the oat bran another whirl.. fingers crossed! Then it's off to work again! talk about workin' for the weekend..
