Yo soy muy contenta

Oh you guys! You never cease to amaze me with your sheer and utter amazingness! Thank you so much for your sweet sweet blog birthday wishes. I can't believe little PB&J is already one year old. They grow up so fast!

Well, after a little emotional detox as of late, I am ready and excited to get back to "regular" blogging (whatever that means).

Today I am supposed to be taking my espanol final, but on Sunday my Profesora e-mailed us and said that if we had an A in the class we were exempt from taking the final...

Spanish

No final para mi. Bueno!

Though I would love to be able to claim that I am just a Spanish whizz and it comes naturally to me, I attribute my success in this class to two things:

  1. This chica bonita. Every time I read her blog posts' it was like an extra study sess.. with the added bonus of delicoso food porn.
  2. The fact the the class was a breeze and a half. It was a Spanish-101 class (mandatory for my major.. don't ask) and I took Spanish for 3 years in high school. So basically, it was just a recap of things I've already learned. Me gusta.

So, to celebrate my not-taking-a-final-ness, I dove in to a wonderfully filling bowl of pumpkin oats. I used Aprils "egg white" method and added 1/2 a cup to my usual mixture.

This kept me full for hours. But not too full for a little mid-morning snackaroo.

DSC05435.JPG

I've dubbed this recipe "Funky Monkey Hot Cocoa"
  • 1 Cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp PB2
  • 1 packet of truvia
  • 1/2 banana

I mixed all the ingreds in the magic bullet, poured in a mug, microwaved for eh, 1 min 30 seconds, and voila. It was so rich and thick from the banana. Oh, I adore so much.

Other things that I adore as of late..

slob on my nog
(so innapprops)

DSC05448.JPG

with cheerios, banana, cinnamon, warmed in the microwave. Bliss.

DSC05440.JPG

Van's waffle with cream cheese, mooshed strawberries, almonds, and whipped cream

Alright well I am feeling a little tight from all of my "sitting on my butt and doing nothing"-action so I think a nice hip opening flow is in order.

Preguntas:

  • What is your favorite "cold weather drink": A few days ago I would have said Starbies gingerbread spice latte, but I think my Funky Monkey Hot Cocoa recipe has changed my mind. I never though I'd see the day.
  • What was your favorite class in highschool / college: In high school I took a "crafts" class.. which was basically a 45 minute period devoted to coloring, making friendship bracelets, and playing with clay. It was so phenom!
Happy day to you sweeties!

Fav drinky? Right now I'm sippin' some Ginger Peach tea that is the dizzle.

Those are some seriously impressive marks! Fanstastic that you didn't have to take the exam but I'm sure you would have aced that one too.

My favourite drink has to be just plain old decaf tea with rice milk (how very English of me...probably because I am English), though having seen your cocoa creation I think I might have to change my mind.

My most beloved class at secondary school (UK version of high school and just as cliquey!) was always Fine Art...it just seemed so loose, free and expressive compared to the more 'formal' classes. I had an evil teacher for it though :(

I love the artistry involved in your food ~ you'd get an A-grade for presentation, that's for sure :)

Just wanted to say congrats on your AWESOME spanish grade. I'm actually in between a psych final and a statistics final (which is DEFINTELY NOT my favorite class) and looking to blogs for some rest for my brain! LOL

Winter drinks? I LOVE hot cocoa, though not like most other people. I don't like it too chocolately. In fact I took a friend of mine in hs to a deli where I got the BEST hot cocoa and she spit it out, saying it tasted like hot water! LOL

daisykate said...

congrats on not having to take your final! that must be a relief.
all of your eats today look soo yummy. it looks pretty similar to what i eat everyday: lots of pumpkin oats and vans waffles :)

as for my fave cold weather drink, it's hard to choose just one. but i guess i'd have to say either hot chocolate or skinny hazelnut lattes. yum.

favorite class? in high school it was always art, but in college my fave so far has been intro to counseling, since i want to be a therapist and all :)

have a great night girl!

My favorite class everrrrr? Probably my high school advanced art class because the teacher was the coolest, hippest, funniest ex-hippie, ever. And because we did the greatest projects--airbrushing! oil paintings! acrylic paintings! loved it all.

favorite holiday drink? its been probably 5 years since I've had a "fun" christmas beverage from starbucks...but i remember liking them quite a lot.

that nog looks fabulous, i saw it in tarjayy yesterday

CONGRATS on the grade, gal, you deserve it!!

that funky money drink sounds great, I may have to copy cat you on that one later tonight!

I'm a HUGE tea drinker in the cold months. Yesterday I think I had 6, maybe 7 mugs of the stuff. Addicted? Perhaps, but I don't think it's a problem yet.

I've been able to take yoga in a PE class for two semesters so far at school, and I love having a free, amazing break in the day to workout and get a little relaxation in. Actually, I think yoga should be a mandatory class in a crazy college atmosphere. Then everyone would just be happy and limber, which would not be a bad thing.

Happy Belated bday to PB&J! So awesome you've been at this blogging thing for a year--amazing how time flies right?

And congrats on your A!!

1. Definitely any kind of tea to warm my body, mind and soul!

2. The Brain and Behavior Psych class I took sophomore year totally changed my perspective on what I wanted to do with my life, so I gotta say that was my favorite class (so far) :)
