The best I ever had

You the, you the best, the best I ever had.

Oh drake, how I've loved thee since the first time I saw you on Degrassi.

This song seems only fitting for today's post, as I can't fully put in to words that you all REALLY ARE THE BEST. The best (and only) blog family I've ever had biggrin I swear, I still have chills from some of your uplifting and supportive comments on yesterdays post. In fact, I'm pretty sure that post generated the most comments in PB&J history (besides giveaways, obvi) which goes to show what angels you are in reaching out and helping to alleviate my fears. I wish I could personally respond to each and every one of your sweet messages and let you know deeply they all touched me.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Aside from your sweet words, something else that was mighty sweet brightened my day as well. The gracious folks from the Penny's Low fat Desserts company were amazing enough to send me some samples of their newest no sugar added chocolate truffle and toffee cinnamon cookies.

you bet your bottom dollar that didn't hesitate for a second before I ripped in to them. I tried the chocolate with some dark chocolate dreams and banana slices. Sammified, of course.

if you looked up "holy yum" in the dictionary I'm pretty sure this picture would be right beside it (next to veggiegirl's face, of course!)

This cookie was beyond words. 'Twas ridiculously chocolaty, insanely moist, and it's ridiculously insane that I'm not eating one right now. Something tells me that I won't be able to salvage these past Friday.

From the Penny's site:

6 out of 5 PB lovin' jars. They were beyond perfection.

Today as a mid morning treat I dove in to the toffee cinnamon cookie.

The texture was spot on and the taste was great, but it tasted more like almonds than toffee to me (hey, i'm not complaining about that) The taste reminded me of a soft almond biscotti. Nom!

4 out of 5 PB lovin' jars. I loved the cookie... Just slightly lacking in the toffee department.

A million thank you's to Penny's Low fat Desserts for the yummy opportunity biggrin

Questions:
  1. How much do you ADORE blogworld?! It has truly changed my life biggrin
  2. Toffee or chocolate?

That cookie sandwich is pure food porn. Oozy DCD and crumbly cookie. Holy yum indeed. :D Interesting that dried plums are a major ingredient in them!

I can't gauge how much I like blogworld yet, because I've only been blogging (sporadically) for about 3 weeks... likin' it so far though ;) And TOFFEE. Some people think I'm crazy, but I'd take toffee over chocolate ANY day. <3

Definitely chocolate over toffee. Definitely!

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) said...

Choc and toffee. I am a huge sucker for caramel and/or toffee. I love that flavor. And I love choc. If I could have a Heath bar with DARK choc, that would be heaven. I actually have made peanut brittle and boiled it to what's called the Hard Ball state (it's a candy making term) and made my own toffee. I jsut need to dunk it in dark choc now....maybe that's a project I can take up next week..maybe not, too!

Split pea soup. Girl that is NOT my thing. But I would just say take some onions, garlic, peppers, carrots, and sautee them with a pat of butter or EVOO in a saucepan. When tender, combine them with a couple cups of peas, couple cups of water or veggie stock, boil it for 20 mins or whatever, and either mush with a potato masher OR immersion blender, or run it all thru your magic bullet...and there's your split pea soup. Salt to taste during the cooking process.

CHOCOLATE for sure. I love blog world =)

Carbzilla said...

Great cookie review! I was a little nervous about the erythritol because most of the -ols KILL my stomach but my in-depth (wikipedia) research says it's "least likely cause gastric distress." I'm sure you'd let us know if you had gastric distress, right?

1. I <3 the Blog world more and more every day.
2. I like toffee covered in chocolate. Does that count?

Tina said...

Hey chica,

I share the bloggy love too! It's been so great to be able to share my foodie-ism with so many other wonderful people (like you!). And this whole community is just so sweet and supportive. Blogging is my #1 hobby and I hope to make it my job one day (a girl can dream right?).

And to answer your question: toffee-flavoured chocolate of course :P (anyone else have difficulty choosing)
xxx

P.S. Butters' during yoga... good idea! He does bring out the zen in everyone.

Sophia said...

Oh yes. Blog world is the best. I feel kind of weird saying this, but I think there is a special connection between us that is different from the ones we have with our non-bloggie friends.

And chocolate. Toffee is too sweet! Chocolate is too sweet as well, but it's still better than toffee :0)

And Jenny...just read your last post...please don't be nervous...be EXCITED!! This is gonna be a new and huge challenge for you....What are you waiting for? Go run and CONQUER it! :D

Carly in Wonderland said...
